INDO GERMAN CONVENTION OF LINDAU ALUMNI- 2016 HELD AT KASTURBA MEDICAL COLLEGE, MANIPAL(IGCLA-2016)

Indo German Convention of Lindau 365体育投注 (IGCLA), an annual interdisciplinary conference was held at Dr.TMA Pai Hall, Kasturba Medical College, 365体育投注 between 15th and 18th September for the second time. It was bigger and better than ever before and provided the perfect opportunity for budding researchers to interact with the experts in the fields; the alumni of the annual Nobel Laureate Meetings in Lindau, Germany.

The key note speakers were Padmashree Dr.M G Deo (Vice President and Secretary of Moving Academy of Medicine and Biomedicine) and Dr.Ivo Steinmetz (Head of Department of Microbiology, University of Greifswald).

On day one and day three, 15 workshops covering health and technical sciences were held, ranging from?Fundoscopy, Bowel anastomosis and?Health camp organization to Big Data and Internet of Things. Plenary lectures from renowned international speakers including Dr. Henning Hintzsche, Dr. Indraneil Mukerjee and Dr. Vivek Joshi, on a wide variety of topics like Molecular Structures and Medicine, Dye Sensitized Solar Cells, Polio Endgame and Tech for India was received with great appreciation by the delegates and made this a true interdisciplinary conference.?

Dr. Avinash Rao and Dr. Shrinidhi Nathany secured the first place in Case Presentation and PG Thesis Competitions respectively. Siddarth Pratapneni and Siddhardh R were the winners of the 365体育投注 Poster Competition which showcased more than 150 entries, one of the largest in Indian interdisciplinary conferences. The Pre/Para Clinical Quiz by Dr. Meenakshi Sundaram and Emergency Medicine Quiz by Dr. Naman Agarwal (Faculty of AIIMS, Delhi) were distinctive experiences for the participants. The winning teams were awarded cash prizes amounting to fifty thousand, among other accolades.

The concept of Science breakfast introduced in IGCLA gave the delegates an exclusive opportunity to interact with the established minds in science, and among themselves. Last but not the least the gala night, an entertainment packed evening was reveled in by all. The overwhelming response from the international crowd of more than 450 delegates and, 35 guest speakers and faculty has elevated the position of Indo German Convention of Lindau 365体育投注 to one of the largest interdisciplinary conference, remaining unique and true to its moto ‘365体育投注, Interact, Develop’.
