Overview

The Department of Biochemistry at KMC Mangalore was established in 1977 and the postgraduate course started in 1989. The Department is currently located at the Centre for Basic Sciences, Bejai. Faculty, postgraduate students and research scholars are actively involved in several research projects.

The Clinical Biochemistry lab, a part of Centralised lab is in the ground floor of the KMC Hospital at Ambedkar Circle. The lab is ISO 9001: 2000 certified and offers round the clock services, possesses state-of-the-art lab facility and experienced technical staff. The Clinical Biochemistry lab has been certified by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt of India.

The Department of Biochemistry and Clinical Biochemistry labs have carved a niche in the arena of diagnostics and are geared to serve the needs of the local population.
