Digital Transformation

MAHE is in the process of transforming its end-to-end education experience through a comprehensive future-gazing exercise. The success of this would be based on keystakeholders i.e., leadership, department heads, faculty, staff, and students understanding, accepting, and championing this initiative. The output is a three-year strategic roadmapafter having identified key problem areas andproviding respective solutions to make MAHE the university of choice, in India and Globally.

3Project SHIFT was first conceived by leaders at MAHE as a catalyst that would spur the universityinto a new future. The idea was to embark on ajourney that would help MAHE not only transformbut also challenge traditional models leading the way to a new era in higher education. One of the most significant aspects of thisendeavour was the decision to involve students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and industry in co-creating this future. We kept these stakeholders at the centre of every activity throughout the project to ensure that the resulting transformation roadmap addresses all the articulated and unarticulated needs of these importantstakeholders.

Exhaustive primary research was conducted to understand MAHE in its entirety; obtain an inside-out and outside-in perspective of the university from the university’s key stakeholder groups i.e., leadership, students, teaching and non-teaching staff, researchers, parents, alumni and industry experts. The research included an ethnography (in-depth interviews and focus group discussions) with key stakeholder groups and a quantitative survey with students across all of MAHE’s constituent institutes.

Through this research, MAHE’s key strengths, weaknesses, associations and consideration drivers were identified, which were then analysed alongside the disruption scan to arrive at 10 key opportunity areas for MAHE’s improvement. Later through ideation and design thinking, exercise 12 digital initiatives and 40 projects were identified and to be implemented in three years, based on impact, priorities, and dependencies. MAHE has been investing in these digital transformational project’s year after year and three large projects were taken up for implementation during this year?
